With a Win Saturday, The Ducks Could Pass The Kings

Anaheim is six points behind L.A.

They play Buffalo at home tonight, Calgary at home Friday night and then the Kings Saturday night.

They’re 8-2-2 their last 12 and since January 6th, have gone an incredible 16-4-4. Bruce Boudreau > BBF

The Kings have 3 days off before they play their cross town rivals. They are 1-2 this season when playing after 3 days off. Last season the Kings had 5 four days off and went 4-0-1.

The Kings haven’t won 3 straight games since “Jack and Jill” made us hate Adam Sandler more than we already do, but thanks to Jonathan Quick are still in the race.

Does anyone miss Jack Johnson?

How many people are scared the injury bug is about to hit again?

The Kings have 8 games remaining at home. Take away Edmonton and the combined record of those teams is 182-103-30.

How bad is the offense? Even if you added a half goal per game, the Kings would STILL be 17th in the league.

How good is Jonathan Quick? If you added a half goal per game, the Kings would STILL be 8th in the league.

Thank you Bernie! Since his arrival, the Kings have gone from 30th in the league on the pp, to 24th. It’s a start.

Shot mentality? The Kings are 12th in the league in shots per game. Yes, they’re all from the point.

Go Home! If the Kings are trailing after the 1st period, they’re 2-10-4. After 2 periods? 1-20-3

POLL:

Who would you rather have covering the Kings next season:

Yum Yum! + Mrs. Penner Files For Divorce!

I see what the Kings were doing.

They don’t play Bernier because he would be really good and they they would feel bad about having to trade him.

They “leak” that Brown is being shopped.

What happens?

Bernier and the Kings choking defense gets another shutout, Brown has 4 goals and 3 assists in 3 games, and I can be happy for three days.

Now Kyle clifford is gonna be all pissed off he got benched before playing the Ducks.

I see what they’re doing.

Can you imagine what would happen if Mike Richards started to get hot? If Jeff Carter would actually score? If Trevor Lewis accidentally found the back of the net?

The Kings might be playoff bound after all. I just wish we didn’t have Nashville and Detroit twice in the next 8 games.

I’m not going to get too excited because the Kings haven’t won 2 straight since before and after the All-Star break some 14 games ago and haven’t won three straight since November 12th-17th.

But I’ll take it.

I guess Minnesota wasn’t happy with trading away their best defenseman, huh? Nice way to screw up a locker room.

JACK JOHNSON
-3 tonight (and was on the ice for a 4th goal as well) – I’m not sayin’ they were his fault, but I am just sayin’

NOLAN AND KING
When one scores, so does the other. They can stay.

NO WONDER WHY!!!!!
(She did this on National Pancake Day!?!?! I guess he really can’t “SCORE”)

SHE’S ALL YOUR BOYS! STORY FROM TMZ HERE (WANT A LAUGH? THEY CALL HIM A “STAR”)

Tick Tock

Time is running out.

Hard to beat a team that is 9-0-2 at home their last 11.

Hard to beat Rinne when you have Suter and Weber and now Gill

Hard to win when the Darryl Sutter/Jamie Kompon offense reverted back to their old ways.

Hard to score when Mike Richards has scored ONE goal in his last 28 games can’t even get it going with his buddy back.

Only Dustin Brown was able to solve Rinne late.

THE TIME IS NOW

The Kings actually played a really good game,  but with an unfavorable schedule head, the only thing now is to make sure the Ducks don’t pass you.

Lombardi should have sold. Based on what was handed out today, he would have gotten a fortune for his underachieving team.

IT’S TRUE! RICHARDSON SUCKS
Terry Murray repeatedly benched Richardson. Then BBF came along and Richardson was playing a regular shift. Now he’s a consistent healthy scratch again. Penner remains awful. How bad do you have to be the have PENNER take your spot?

KOZUN MADE A FUNNY
Kings prospect Ray Kaunitso called into the Mayor’s show last night prompting this response from Kings prospect Brandon Kozun   “The only thing worse then listening to Ray on the radio is people on the Maury show claiming their not the dad”

WHERE THE HELL WAS HEXTALL?
Correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t today the deadline for having players in the AHL on their roster in order to qualify for the post season? Considering the DEFENSEMEN have been playing forward in Mancheter, where was Hextall in trying to get some wingers down there to help out instead of throwing Loktionov to the wolves?

CAN WE START A CAMPAIGN?
We’re in an election year. So can we start a campaign?

FACT CHECKER PLEASE:
In the never ending humor that is FOX SPORTS WEST…

JUST BECAUSE I CAN:

Kings Stand Pat. Will it Be Enough?

Trevor Lewis
Brad Richardson
Jordan Nolan
Dwight King

That’s who the Kings decided they were going to go into the playoffs with. No toughness, no veterans, no depth. (unless you count Ethan Moreau and Trent Hunter in Manchester)

Oh, well.

There were late rumors that the Kings and Toronto were close to a deal, but who knows.

The Kings didn’t get their “firecracker”. Unless they call up Rich Clune, they’ll just have to stick with what they have and pray… a lot.

The Flyers didn’t deal (today), St Louis did nothing, the Rangers didn’t get Nash and neither did San Jose (though they gave up a lot to get that scumbag Kassian). Colorado helped our playoff chances by gutting their roster (surprised Jones didn’t move), Chicago didn’t get their 2nd round center, Detroit, despite all of their payroll, made one minor move.

Nashville and San Jose had to answer the Kings.

What did YOU think?

And The Award Goes To…

BEST ACTOR: DEAN LOMBARDI

“Build From Within”, “Core” “Tattoo on the Ass” “Learn How to Win” – He sold season ticket holders for nearly six years on his “plan”. He had us believe in it, too. In the end, he threw it all away. He handed a 21 year old 7 million dollars a year. He traded one of his “core” for a 10 year contract!

My God! Lombardi was better than that guy who won for dressing as a woman and having a penis in “The Crying Game”. He made mince meat out of Daniel Day Lewis in “My Left Foot”. This is the best acting I have seen since Dustin Hoffman in “Midnight Cowboy”. Forget George Clooney, Forget Brad Pitt. Dean Lombardi has been the best actor in L.A. for the past 6 years. Absolute Brilliance!

BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR: TIM LEIWEKE

“I love the Kings” “Nobody Wants to Win More Than Me”. Since Staples Center opened on October 20th, 1999, Leiweke has talked about how much he loves his hockey team. Meanwhile, he’s built downtown, he built Nokia, the Galaxy have a championship or two, or three, they’re about to break ground on a football stadium, and Kings fans aren’t anywhere near a championship now as they were in 1999.

Sheer absolute brilliant acting on the part of Tim Leiweke.

BEST SCREENPLAY: “THE TIME IS NOW”

It’s filled with heartache. It’s filled with drama. It’s filled with fans who are left at the altar. It was certainly much better than past efforts, “We are The Kings” “Serious Hockey”, “Pride + Passion = Power” which don’t hold a candle to “The Time is Now”. It made you cry… a lot. It deserves the win, hands down!

BEST DOCUMENTARY: 40+ YEARS OF FUTILITY

Watch Manny the gardener, who spends his last dime on season tickets, only to be told that they’ll be raised by 55%. Watch the heartbreaking tale of Marc, the amputee, whose only hope hinges on the Kings winning the Stanley Cup… and sadly, the journey of Ernesto, the cancer survivor who lived… and died… when Bryan Smolinski hit the post. It will pull on your heartstrings. It will make you cry. It will make you angry. It will make you eat fatty foods.

BEST COMEDY: JAMIE KOMPON’S OFFENSE

It’s better than “Pluto Nash”, It’s funnier than “Porky’s 5”, It makes “Jackass” look unfunny! This hysterical look at the daily bufoonery had audiences rolling in the aisles. Hospitals we’re overbooked with people who checked themselves in with stomach muscle pulls from laughing so hard! Pat Travers in Rolling Stone said, “Without a doubt, this is the stupidest thing I have ever seen in my life. I even peed a little.”

I PREDICT
a) Nash will not be traded
b) Dustin Brown will not be traded
c) Steve Ott will not be traded
d) nobody from the Islanders will be traded
e) Minnesota will made at least one trade
f) Toronto will make at least one trade
g) the Kings will make one minor deal

Dustin Brown Answers With a Big F*** You!

Maybe Dean Lombardi could threaten to trade Anze Kopitar and Drew Doughty.

Dustin Brown pulled out his bottle of lubricant, bent Dean Lombardi over and stuck his trade rumors right up his ass.

They didn’t need Jeff Carter.

Dustin Brown even made Jamie Kompon look good by scoring twice on the power play

He even scored short handed.

Even Stoll woke up from his season long coma.

Jonathan Quick wept. “Where has THIS been the past 20 games? You cost me a Vezina!”

Should this single act propel the Kings? Should this confidence carry the Kings to a division title?

It damn well should.

Imagine if Kopitar and Doughty and Richards finally woke up.

Imagine if Richardson and Lewis scored.

Imagine if Penner stopped loafing. Okay, okay, I’ll settle for two out of three.

The Kings FINALLY gave the sold out Staples their monies worth.

Jeff Carter, remember what winning felt like?

Now Lombardi can concentrate on replacing the useless Lewis. Adding that needed “grit”.

I’m happy

The Dustin Penner Dilemma

Do you trade him? Does anybody actually WANT him? Do you keep him? Do you want to free up cap space? Do you waive him?

Decisions, decisions, decisions.

TRADE HIM
How many teams have the cap space to take him on, who needs him and believes he will be the Penner that showed up in Edmonton rather than the Penner that disappeared like Natalee Holloway in Los Angeles? Toronto GM Brian Burke certainly loves big bodies but doesn’t have extra draft picks.

Come to think of it, only the Devils and Sabres have extra draft picks (Montreal is in selling mode)

KEEP HIM
He does have a Stanley Cup ring. He didn’t do much in the playoffs LAST season, but he does have experience in case any of the wingers goes down with injury. Do you really want Lewis/Richardson/Nolan/King as your reserves?

WAIVE HIM
Let him join Hunter and Moreau in Manchester to help the kids as much as they can, it will free up the needed cap space to grab that “firecracker” Lombardi needs. The risk is, if you try and bring him back up, another team can claim him for half the price, or just block the Kings as a strategic move.

What would YOU do?

LOMBARDI LOVES HIS 2ND ROUND PICKS
The Lightning now have FOUR 2nd round picks. Which player(s) could the Kings send to T.B. for 1 of those picks?

  • 38th pick (their own)
  • 39th pick (for Dominic Moore)
  • 46th pick (for Pavel Kubina)
  • 54th pick (for Andrei Meszaros)
